You should register your student visa with the Federal Police within 90 days of your arrival in Brazil. Scheduling should be done as soon as possible, taking into account the difficulty of finding available dates.
Failure to comply with this guidance may result in a fine.
Step 1 – Gather Documents
- Filling in the electronic form. Click here to open the form. Click here to find the translation for the fields;
- A color 3×4 cm photo with a white background;
- Electronic declaration of address and other means of contact (Declaração eletrônica de endereço e outros meios de contato);
- Valid original passport;
- Student Visa (original application provided at the time you applied for the visa at the Brazilian consulate);
- Proof of payment of the “Carteira de Registro Nacional Migratório” (National Migration Registration Card) fee (BRL 204.77 – Code 140120);
- *Birth certificate or consular registration with proof of parents’ names may be requested.
Step 2 – Pay the Fee
Click here and fill in the fields with your personal information as you did in the form and choose the code 140120;
Payment can be made at any bank in Brazil.
*If you also have to pay a late payment fee, also select the code 140122 – 1252 – “Não se registrar dentro do prazo de 90 dias do ingresso no país.” (Not register within 90 days of entering the country.).
Step 3 – Make an Appointment
Click here and fill in the fields;
Choose “Migração” and for “Código de solicitação” enter the number displayed at the top of the “impressão de solicitação”.
