The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Nanjing University, China, marking the beginning of a path of academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions.
The meeting was attended by UFRJ’s Rector, Professor Roberto Medronho, and Professor Tan Tieniu, from Nanjing University, who, in addition to serving as Chair of the University’s CPC Council, is also a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a corresponding member of the Brazilian Academy of Sciences.
During the meeting, the parties discussed possibilities for collaboration in strategic areas such as astronomy, engineering, artificial intelligence, and social sciences.
